TEC COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FOR 10-15-99 Go Forth Groups are meeting in Jeff City at the Lincoln Newman Center. The Mizzou Group is now being led by Eron McMenamy. They are meeting on Wednesday at 8 PM….As TEC #170 was cancelled, there is no report….Greg Clarkston reported attending the Renewing the Vision workshop in Des Moines. He felt he will benefit greatly from this workshop in his role as director in January…. The mini-training session which was to be held in October during the Parent’s Talk will role over to the November reunion…. Nominations for The Spirit of TEC award will be accepted at the December council meeting. We may nominate up to 3 people….The discernment for new core council members will take place on Nov 7th at 1 PM. Nominations need to be in by Oct 24th. Terms expire for Theresa Armentrout, Arnold Brucks, & Jude Meldrem. Continuing terms are Sarah Aulbur, Carol Blecha, Colleen Dowd, Lee Menz and Andi Olsen….Lee Menz has perpared an article on TEC for the Catholic Missourian….Randy Kollars, director of youth ministry, has proposed a "Day of Celebration" sponsored by the diocese to thank, celebrate and affirm all people involved in TEC – past and present. Possible dates are being discussed….Another TEC dance is planned for Sat., November 27th ….Next Council meeting is December 3, St. Stanislaus, Wardsville at 7:15 PM. EVERY TECITE MAY ATTEND! NATIONAL TEC/KOINONIA CONVENTION 2000 Quincy, Illinois, will be the place to be on Memorial Day weekend next year! If you think TEC is neat, you should think about attending a National Convention! Information will be forthcoming as our center receives it, BUT a sneak peek can be found on the Quincy TEC website at: www.shopquincy.com/tec/national/index.shtml MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND BEGIN SAVING TODAY! We should have a strong Mid America contingency there and make our presence known from across the river! This isn’t an adults only event – meet youth literally from around the world who have made TEC! DON’T MISS THIS WORKSHOP! IF YOU WILL BE A WHEATIE OR SUPERWHEAT, YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS! At 3:00 PM before the November Hoot Mass, we will be hosting a workshop for all TECites. This is information on the new direction for our wheat team under the guidelines of the new TEC manual. Meet in the lower level of St Peter’s Church. The workshop should last about 50 minutes and will be a mini-history lesson, a ‘meat & potatoes’ session on the re-direction of our wheat vision, a time to brain storm, and a time of prayer – which is what wheaties are best known for! SPIRIT OF TEC AWARD Each year at the National TEC Convention the Spirit of TEC awards are given to those recipients nominated by individual TEC centers. We are allowed to honor up to 3 recipients. Selection for this award is based upon the merits of service; sharing of love, faith and enthusiasm; commitment to serving the church and its youth; and the embodiment of the Paschal Mystery experience. Within our community, who do you see fitting that description? We need your input! Drop a note to the TEC office or email your suggestion(s) to Lee Menz before the December 3rd council mtg. Each recipient is given a matted and framed "declaration" of their award. In the past, these "declarations" have been on display at the convention for all to see. |

To the school for Friday night’s shared prayer:
From I-70 take Hwy 65 north. As you come through Marshall, take a right on Arrow Street. Follow Arrow Street and take a right on Ellsworth Avenue. The school is ahead about three blocks.
To St. Peter’s church for Sunday:
From I-70 take Hwy 65 north. Take a right on Morrow Street. Follow Morrow Street and take a right on Miami Avenue. Follow Miami Street about three blocks and the church sits off to the right.
