TEC COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FOR 9-6-99
TEC #169 reported an excellent weekend.
Lee Menz was very impressed with the entire weekend including the Sunday night discussion on life and moral values. The candidates did a wonderful job of patrolling and policing themselves. The parent talk was given by Jeanne Fuchs and Carol Blecha went very well. The parents seemed to be very interested in the process and questions on the age difference were addressed. The Mass, outside hoot, and Peace Meditation went very well.
..There was a very small turnout for the TEC dance. Future events will benefit from more advance notice to the community .It was decided to continue using the new journals for the weekend with some minor changes being made. .The TEC Truck has undergone some reorganization with more to come. Ed Sanbothe (father of Ken Sandbothe) made repairs to and refinished the podium and bible stand. A donation to Samaritan Center, Jeff City, will be made in his name. .There were about 30 community members who attended the new manual training workshop held in Columbia .We will continue to support National TEC by sending a yearly donation of $1 per for each candidate that year . The Year 2000 National TEC Convention will be held in Quincy, IL on Memorial Day Weekend .Mini-training sessions will be organized for sharing the information in the new manual .Nominations and the discernment for new core councils memebers will take place this fall. By-laws need also to be written. Specifics to be discussed in the future .Next Council meeting is October 15, St. Stanislaus, Wardsville at 7:15 PM. EVERY TECITE MAY ATTEND!

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF #169
Dear TEC #169,
Greetings to all of you. Can you believe that it has been two months since we came together as strangers in Hannibal and parted as friends in Christ? Jesus is truly awesome. What a joyous weekend! My heart is warmed each time I think of you.
You have been in my daily prayers since you began your Fourth Day journey. Im sure you came home and found life the same as you left it, just as I did. But I pray that you each are using the tools that we offered you on TEC #169. Remember that Jesus is with us each ad every day, WE just need to invite Him to walk with us.
The TEC family is here to offer love and support, so I invite you to attend the hoots and to get involved in the TEC community. Your parish family will also be there to support you, so I ask that you be involved there also.
I felt THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD that weekend and words cannot express how each one of you touched my heart. As I saw the face of Jesus in yours, I know that He will continue to bless you as you continue on your journey. Know that He loves you and I love you too.
In His Presence, Lee Menz

NATIONAL TEC/KOINONIA
CONVENTION 2000
Quincy, Illinois, will be the place to be on Memorial Day weekend next year! If you think TEC is neat, you should think about attending a National Convention! Information will be forthcoming as our center receives it, BUT a sneak peek can be found on the Quincy TEC website at:
www.shopquincy.com/tec/national/index.shtml
There is a form to fill out regarding stuff you might like for them to have submit workshop ideas or activities you would like to see. They also have information on the keynote speaker and on the musical headliner they have lined up! The following is the prayer from the site for preparing for the convention
HEAVENLY FATHER
thank You for all the wonderful blessings You give us. Especially thank You for the spiritual renewal generated by TEC and Koinonia. It is our fervent desire to make a difference in the world through the National TEC/Koinionia Convention 2000. Help us to open doors to Christ and, in so doing, reconcile with all others, celebrate the glory of Your Being and evangelize the good news of the Gospel. Help us to love with all the capacity You have given us. Thank You in the name of Your Son, Jesus. AMEN!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND BEGIN SAVING TODAY! We should have a strong Mid America contingency there and make our presence known from across the river! This isnt an adults only event meet youth literally from around the world who have made TEC!
DID YOU KNOW that Mid America hosted the National Convention in 1995 at William Woods campus in Fulton?
DONT MISS THIS WORKSHOP!
IF YOU WILL BE A WHEATIE OR SUPERWHEAT, YOU DONT WANT TO MISS THIS!
At 3:00 PM before the October Hoot Mass, we will be hosting a workshop for all TECites. This is information on the new direction for our wheat team under the guidelines of the new TEC manual.
Meet in Reker Hall at the Taos church (its the fancy name for the meeting room behind the altar). There is a well marked entrance off the street but we will have signs up!
The workshop should last about 50 minutes and will be a mini-history lesson, a meat & potatoes session on the re-direction of our wheat vision, a time to brain storm, and a time of prayer which is what wheaties are best known for!
PLAN TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT!
