NEWS FROM TEC CONVENTION 2000 Eleven MA TECites attended the TEC Convention over Memorial Day weekend in Quincy, IL. Fr. Greg Higley, Theresa Armentrout, and Fr. Pat Quinn were given Spirit of TEC awards. Mid America TEC member Sharon Dey was honored by the TEC Conference with a 2000 Heritage Award!! This award is given by the TEC Conference to individuals who have displayed not only the Spirit of TEC within their center, but at the national level as well. Within the program for the convention was printed the following: "Sharon Dey has been a member of the Mid America TEC community in the diocese of Jefferson City, MO since 1978, serving on its Board from 1979 to 1996. From 1994-96, Sharon also served as the diocesan director of TEC for Jefferson City , and played an instrumental role when Mid America TEC hosted the National TEC/Koinonia Convention in 1995. "In addition to her service to Mid America TEC, Sharon served on the TEC Conference Board of Directors from 1992 to 1999, and on its Leadership Team from 1996 to 1999. Her quiet wisdom brought clarity, insight, and perspective to many discussions. "Over the years, Sharon has attended all but one of the national leadership workshops sponsored by the Manual committee. These workshops, along with the practical experience of slowly implementing various changes locally, has provided Sharon with a solid understanding of the TEC process. She was a member of the original team of people who designed and presented the first Renewing the Vision of TEC trainers' workshop in the Fall of 1997. Since then she has also served on three other Renewing the Vision of TEC training teams. "The TEC Conference is proud to present Sharon Dey with the Heritage Award in gratitude for her years of faithful service and the various contributions she has made to the TEC Movement on the local, regional, and national levels." CONGRATULATIONS, DEAR SHARON!!!! |
