TEC 172 "Coolness" Update
All of your hard work has paid off!! Carol Blecha reports that on her return trip from World Youth Day, the six youth traveling with her confided, "Fr. Dan is SO COOL!" They even talked of taking him "clubbing". Congrats on a "coolness" job well done!

NEXT TEC COUNCIL MEETING WILL BE FRIDAY, Nov 17th, 7:15 pm in the meeting room at I. C. Rectory, Jeff City. All TECites are encouraged to attend these meetings. Timothy Armbruster News

The TEC community received an invitation to Timothy's "Definitive Incorporation" with the Society of the Precious Blood (this was his formal commitment to the community) which occurred October 27th. He is also making plans for his deacon ordination set for December 17th to be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Sedalia. His priesthood ordination will be sometime next year either late summer or early fall. Please keep this TEC friend in your prayers.

Dear TEC 175,
So much has happened since we were together in Taos last July! Many of you have started new jobs, gotten a big portion of your first semester under your belt and have just gone on to live life. And yet I know (judging from my email) you have not forgotten one another! There is something precious and sacred in knowing that three days spent together have formed friendships to last a lifetime!
How wonderful it is to know that the words of our theme song have taken root in your hearts, for we truly are one Body in Christ! As I challenged you on Go Day, now is the time to share in the larger Body of Christ in TEC by doing wheat for TEC 176 as so many did for you! I encourage you to write a wheat letter to TEC 176 and be Christ to them by welcoming them into this Body. I am more than confident that you will effectively express His love to them for I saw it in your faces when we said goodbye.
I hope to see many of you at the hoot in Salisbury!
In His Warm Love, Paula Sanning

TEC Council Meeting Minutes from July 28th….
Steve Maxwell was introduced as the new Core Council member filling the vacancy of Colleen Dowd. Carolyn Mullins was introduced as the new TEC Secretary….. Paula Sanning made the report of TEC 175 - facilities were wonderful, great candidates. The wheat team was superb and she felt that their "speaking when spoken to" made them less of a distraction. The wheat team served the Agape meal and had their own table for this meal. They also did not join in the discussion. Hoot was very well attended and it was commented on how many priests were there (bless you guys!)…. No one has been tapped to direct the November weekend or any 2001 …. The TEC 25th Anniversary Celebration will be in 2002 …. Discernment needs to be held again this fall, the date of October 29 was set for this …. A fall training workshop has been set for September 17th, Paula Sanning offered to lead this workshop.

DID YOU KNOW ---
….The National TEC and Koinonia Convention will be held in Evansville, Indiana next year in June?

….The crucifix which hangs in our conference room has a wooden corpus. This crucifix originally hung in a chapel at Washington University and was a double-sided crucifix - it had a corpus on each side. It was given to Fr. John Whitely who removed one corpus for use in the UM-Rolla Newman Center and donated the wooden crucifix to MA TEC!

…. The podium used on the TEC weekend was made in 1984 by a TECite from Boonville, Alan Lammers, in his shop class in high school.

CORE COUNCIL NOMINATIONS
EVERY TECITE NEEDS TO READ THIS:

Included with this newsletter is a recommendation form which the TEC Council would like for you to complete and return.

Please pray and complete the form and return to Lee Menz (her address is on the form) no later than NOVEMBER 15th.

This information was emailed out and not one nomination was returned!

As the form states we need youth representatives as well as adults! Look around you and the people you have served with on TEC. Whom do you feel would be good in helping lead TEC into the new millennium? Just take a few minutes and complete this form (you may submit up to three names - married couples count as one).

If you like, you may EMAIL the necessary information to Lee Menz (her address is on the form). Your name is required.

ALL CURRENT CORE COUNCIL MEMBERS WILL BE DISCERNED AGAIN THIS YEAR! IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE CURRENTLY ON THE CORE COUNCIL AND WISH FOR THEM TO BE DISCERNED, THEY MUST BE RE-NOMINATED!

This is a very important process for our TEC center. Please take a few moments to let your voice be heard.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
