| TEC RECRUITMENT PROGRAM
Earlier this year we announced a program underway in the TEC community to reach out to the youth in our diocesan parishes.
HERE IS AN UPDATE:
A number of TECites expressed an interest in assisting in a program where we would spend a couple hours presenting a workshop for high school youth in the parish. Witnessing about TEC would only be a part of the workshop. Our own Arnold Brucks developed the program format. We would like to get this program underway. We are in need of a couple adults to participate in this program. It would entail supervising the TECites who are facilitating the workshops.
CURIOUS TO KNOW MORE?
Great! Please contact Arnold Brucks, 132 Co Rd 334B, New Franklin, MO 65274
or call him at 660.848.2943 The need is great and it is a wonderful opportunity to promote TEC!
Dear TECites of TEC 174,
As I reflect back to our experience together on TEC 174, I feel truly blessed and grateful that God brought such a wonderful group of people together to share in the love He has for us. It was just awesome to see that love grow in each of you as the weekend progressed. God called each of you to TEC 174 to encounter Him through the love of His Son, Jesus. We developed into a special family on TEC 174. As members of the TEC 174 family, we are companions on the journey. I pray that in the days to come you will continue to grow closer to Jesus and that you will remember that Jesus is always by your side on the journey. Peace and joy be with you always. Love, Bill Toenies
Dear TEC #173,
Seems like just yesterday we were all together around the altar at
Wardsville, MO. So many tears, laughter and prayers were shared that weekend. Always keep the spirit of TEC in your heart as you now move in new directions in your life. Christ is alive and is a light in your heart. As you move on remember to see Christ in everyone you meet and be Christ-like to everyone you meet. As our TEC family expands to include each one of you, make sure that you include yourself in this family by giving back what was given to you. Support the upcoming weekend with prayers, letters and wheat. Know that you all are in our heart and prayers. You are truly a blessing in our lives and we are so thankful to call you friends.
Love, Ken and Shelle Sandbothe

June 16, 2000 TEC Council Meeting Minutes:
There were no Go Forth reports....TEC 174 reported a good weekend. The facilities were good. There was some concern over candidates knowing in advance about the hoot. A monstrance was used in procession of the candidates from the hoot to church for shared prayer. There were few general wheat letters for the weekend.....TEC 175 reported a full team except for an assistant spiritual director. The director will be meeting with the spiritual director in the next week to review the manual. The weekend theme is "We Are One Body In Christ".....Discussion of Arnold
Brucks' recruitment program. Adults are needed to assist. A note will be made in the next newsletter....Lee Menz is planning to attend the October Renewing the Vision of TEC workshop in Des Moines. There is also one in September at Wichita. Make announcements in the newsletter to invite others to attend.....Those who attended made report on the TEC convention. It was an enjoyable convention and new contacts were made with a group from Tulsa who may be observing MA TEC, as they are to be starting a center there. Several from Quincy expressed an interest in renewing ties also. The 2001 convention will be in Evansville, Indiana the weekend AFTER Memorial Day.....The need for by-laws and incorporation were again raised. Lee
Menz, Sharon Dey and Carol Blecha will be working toward these....The tabernacle looks fantastic! At a cost of $350 to be refurbished, there has been $300 collected to pay for this expense....The new chapel monstrance was purchased and on display. All agreed it is very lovely. It is a Jubilee 2000 monstrance and will be used in the TEC weekend chapel....The following fees were reported: $90 to renew website domain, $100 for TEC Conference affiliation dues, $96 payable to the TEC Conference in the name of center support. This dollar amount is arrived by tithing $1.00 per candidate during our fiscal year.....A fall workshop, much like the one we had last year, for training of the community in the manual was discussed. Perhaps in Columbia....More discussion on TEC's 25th anniversary was held. As several want to attend the Alaskan TEC Cruise, a month other than the summer was discussed. Paula Sanning mentioned that the actual anniversary will be in September and that in years past, TEC has held a
"SuperHoot" as a birthday party which consisted of workshops, Mass, carry-in dinner, hoot with planned entertainment, and a shared prayer to end the evening. It was suggested to ask Randy Kollars if September would be a "do-able" month as September may fit the college students schedule better....Sarah Aulbur will also be stepping down as the TEC secretary due to her current schedule and planning a wedding (congrats Sarah and Shannon!). Several names were discussed to approach for assistance.....The next Council meeting will be held Friday, July 28th in the rectory basement meeting room at Immaculate Conception in Jefferson City. All TECites are invited to attend.
